It seems like I’ve been waiting forever for Humbl to open up near us in Windermere. As an off again, on again Vegan, it is hard to find good places to go out to eat and still stay on track as a vegan. I mean, there are only so many salads one person can eat. Am I right?!
Humbl has recently opened it’s first location here in Orlando (well Windermere) back in July. The fast and casual restaurant has a 100% plant based and organic menu. Renowned vegan, celebrity chef Matthew Kenney is the restaurant’s chief culinary officer and helped come up with many of the menu items. Through thier One-for-One program, Humbl plans to provide over 70,000 meals a year to hungry children.
Menu items include burgers, fries, bowls, salads and they also serve beer and wine.
Matt had the Humbl bowl with Gardein Chicken. The bowl has a brown rice base with cauliflower and a coriander yogurt sauce. It had a great flavor and the portion was perfect for a light lunch. My only issue with this is I wish it had more veggies, like maybe some shredded carrots and broccoli.
I had the nachos, which were out of this world delicious! Blue Corn Tortilla Chips were loaded with farro chorizo, cashew queso, jalapeños, black bean & charred corn pico, a cashew based cream, and avocado. I will definitely be coming back for these nachos. They were a great size and perfect for sharing.
They also have many dessert options like cupcakes, cookies and brownies. But I opted for Vegan soft serve. I mean come on, vegan soft serve! Need I say more? The texture of the ice cream was perfect, the cone is gluten free and this was the perfect way to end a nice lunch on a hot, summer day.
I’m so happy that a restaurant with some great vegan options is now open near us. I highly recommend you try to pop in and give them a chance.
